Growing up in a village where power cuts and electrical hazards during rainy seasons were common, young Amrish developed an innate curiosity for electrical systems. His fascination turned into a passion, inspiring him to pursue a Diploma in Electrical Engineering at a Polytechnic College in Muzaffarnagar.
Mr. Garg’s academic journey was marked by his emphasis on acquiring in-depth technical knowledge. He consistently excelled, ranking among the top 10 students in his batch. During this time, he drew inspiration from Kimat Rai Gupta, the visionary founder of Havells, nurturing a dream to contribute to the electrical industry.
In 1994, at just 17 and a half years old, Mr. Garg joined Havells, fulfilling his aspiration to work with a reputed electrical company. However, as he delved deeper into his role, he observed a critical gap: premium electrical products were unaffordable for the common man.
This insight planted the seed of Bill Tech Electricals, which Mr. Garg established in 2002, with the aim of providing affordable yet quality electrical products.X
The journey of building Bill Tech was fraught with financial hardships and personal challenges. Starting the company with minimal resources, Mr. Garg faced numerous obstacles. Despite these, his unwavering belief in his mission and his resilience enabled him to persevere through difficult times.
Bill Tech began with a modest amount of ₹10,000-15,000, partnering with Subhash Vij Kumar Electricals as its first distributor. Over time, this partnership flourished, and today, this distributor alone generates an annual turnover of ₹25-30 crore for Bill Tech.
By building a robust network of distributors, including partnerships with individuals like Mr. Umesh Goyal in Rajasthan, Mr. Garg grew his network to 60-70 distributors across the region. The company’s first distributor meeting in Nainital in 2015 was a milestone moment, demonstrating the scale and strength of the Bill Tech family.
