Overview

Is your business grappling with issues of quality, maintenance, sustainability, enormous waste, unpredictable delivery schedules, high costs, and tough competition?

If yes, it’s time to GO LEAN! The Fit Factory Journey helps you, the business leader/entrepreneur to understand and practice the five principles of LEAN:

1.Identify “Value”: Define what the customer wants from you, not what you want to give your customer.

2.Plot the Value Stream: We have already defined what the customer values or wants. This becomes your focus area. Differentiate between activities that contribute to customer values and those that do not. Activities that do not contribute to customer value are to be considered as “waste” and must be eliminated to reduce wastage of resources, time spent and costs incurred.

3.Generate a Smooth Flow: Now that you have identified and eliminated wastes, the next principle is to generate a smooth flow of activities/steps from start to end without disruptions or stoppages.

4.Set up a Pull-based System: How much inventory is ‘enough’ inventory? Too much inventory – be it raw material, work-in-progress or finished goods – can contribute significantly to waste. When you set up a pull-based system, you ensure that inventory inputs are available in the right quantity at the right time. This ensures an unhindered flow of information as well as material. A supplier (internal or external) must give to the next process/operation, only what it requires - no more, no less.

5.The Quest for Perfection: After reducing/eliminating waste, the next logical step in the journey towards “perfection” is “Continuous Improvement” (CI). CI is an integral part of “Lean Thinking” and forms the “Organization’s Culture.” Achieving perfection is a continuous process and every employee at every level of the organization must contribute towards it, the goal being to satisfy the customer.

Having been introduced to LEAN and the benefits it can reap for you, we offer you the opportunity to associate with the School of Inspirational Leadership for individual implementation of LEAN in your organization, along with handholding and mentoring for the same.

Outcomes

  1. Productivity and Employee satisfaction: LEAN brings about a massive change in the way workers operate by cutting through the clutter, reducing unnecessary activities and waste, successfully boosting productivity and employee satisfaction.
  2. Higher Profitability: Continuous focus on Value for the Customer, along with increased efficiency, higher productivity, better quality and reduced waste results into higher profitability for your business
  3. Better lead times and flexibility for your business: As your operations become more efficient, your business is better positioned to cope with and also take advantage of the changes at the marketplace.
  4. Sustainability of business: When waste is reduced and a business becomes adaptable, this makes it poised to prosper and become future-ready.
